Catawba Valley Alkaline Glaze Churn,

16 inches (height), 75⁄8 (base diameter), 5 1⁄2 inches (opening diameter), 9 inches (approximate diameter of center).
Dark brown alkaline glaze with a speckled finish. Arched ear handles on each side. Marked: “3” (capacity of 3 gallons).
The top is formed to accommodate either a churn lid or a storage lid. Catawba Valley red clay visible on the bottom. Turning rings can be felt along the entire piece. Condition is excellent with only two tiny chips on the inner area of the rim, a glaze skip on side, and an indentation on side which was present prior to firing.
