American Folk Art Advertising Figure
late 19th or early 20th Century
Approximately 24 inches (length), 12 inches (height). Painted plaster. Little or no chipping, old repaint and some original paint, areas of paint loss. The word "OHIO" is on the Indian's sash.
Oral history indicates that this is an advertising logo figure for the Ohio Match Company, Wadsworth, Ohio, founded during the 1890's.
